Ledger Users Threaten to Take Legal Action in Response to the Hack

The information that the hacker managed to steal belonged to the users of the ledger. It has been revealed that the hacker who stole all the personal information of the ledger users has released them on the internet.

At the beginning of the year 2020, a hacker managed to earn the spotlight for carrying out a hack on the ledger marketing database of a hardware wallet provider. It was established that in the process of breaching the marketing database of the wallet provider, the hacker managed to steal an enormous amount of personal information.

The information that the hacker managed to steal belonged to the users of the ledger. It has been revealed that the hacker who stole all the personal information of the ledger users has released them on the internet.

This has resulted in the hardware provider facing an enormous amount of heat and backlash from the users of the ledger. While some of the users do not seem to be much concerned about this, the majority of the users have expressed extreme displeasure and un-satisfaction.

As a result of the recent hack, several users have threatened that they will be taking legal action against the ledger for its lack of security. The users have threatened that they will be filing a class-action lawsuit against the ledger for having an inferior security system.

Alon Gal who is a representative at a network security firm known as Hudson Rock recently tweeted about the hack that took place on the particular ledger. He stated that the hacker that managed to breach the security system of the particular ledger has finally executed his/her final plan. Gal confirmed that the hacker attempted the hack on the ledger back in June of 2020.

Gal has revealed that the hacker has released all the private information he gathered against the users of the ledger through the online platform. It has been revealed that the hacker managed to gain an enormous amount of email addresses. In addition to the email addresses, the hacker also gained access to the hardware wallet orders that included phone numbers, email addresses, and physical addresses.

The total number of the email address that the hacker managed to steal was 1,075,382 and the total number of wallet orders that were hacked were 272,853. The total number of users that were targeted during the hack was 272,000 buyers of the ledger and 1,000,000 additional users.

The leakage of this information has now become a huge threat for the users of the ledger. One of the main factors is that the users who buy ledgers have a high net worth when it comes to cryptocurrencies. Following the release of their personal information, these users have now become vulnerable to cyber-hacks/attacks and physical harassment.

Following the news of the users’ personal information getting released, many users have reported that they have now started receiving phishing emails from several fake email addresses. Although the ledgers have confirmed that it is taking all the actions necessary to take down the phishing websites/email addresses, still the users do not seem convinced. There are now reports that the ledger may be facing a lawsuit from around 10,000 users following the June hack.
